Flattening Live Edge Slabs

Duration: 1 day, 2 hours.

Skills Covered: Have access to a live edge slab, or another great piece of wood, but it's  not flat?  We'll show you some techniques on how to get those pesky waves, twists, or cupping out of your material.  There are a few ways to remove material so that you have a workable piece and not firewood. We'll set up a router sled, use an edge joiner, thickness planer, and a couple other techniques that will bring old rough wood to life.

Class Size: Limited to 10 students per class.  Minimum age 18 years old.

Class FAQ:

• Students will have access to all tools required for this class, all materials will be provided.
• Taking note is a good thing, along with sketches, so bring a notebook and pencil.
• You'll be in a working shop, so dress expecting to get some sawdust on your clothing, with no dangling clothing or jewelry. 
• Plan to attend all classes, we do not offer make-up sessions at this point or refunds for missed classes.
• If you need to cancel, you must notify us before class starts. You will receive credit towards another class or time.  Once the class has started no refunds or credit will be given.
