The shop is well set up and has high quality equipment. I took the class to make corn hole boards with Fred. It was a great hands-on experience in the shop working with many of the tools and the project came out great.

I’ve been doing some research on woodworking and am getting more interested in the hobby. I don’t have the space for a quality woodworking shop. So a little more searching leads me here. Last minute I signed up for a Make & Take for a small reading table. I met Fred and Tim, the owners, and they were friendly and welcoming. I worked with Fred on building the table where I was the only one in the class, so like a private instruction! Fred’s got a ton of knowledge and answered every one of my questions. I’d highly recommend taking a class.

I did a Make & Take class and had such a good time! As a beginner to woodworking, I appreciated how well Fred instructed me throughout the processes, so that I left with a piece I feel proud to say that I made. It was a great way to get some hands-on experience with a variety of tools, in an instructional setting where safety is at the forefront of each step. I'm excited to return for more classes in the future!

I took an individual class with Fred, he was an amazing teacher! He gave instructions in a clear articulate manner, showed me how to do it and then observed while I tried. The shop is spotless and well maintained. Highly recommend!

I had a last minute project that needed woodworking, and Fred was so helpful and kind to stay after and help me. Even though I’m trained on the machines, he stayed close and guided me through using them to make sure I was safe and successful. Really great place, hope it sees lots of success in the future!

I took the 6 week Woodworking 101 class and as someone with no prior Woodworking experience, I learned so much. I am looking forward to taking 201 and continuing to build on my new set of skills.

I had a great time today making a flower vase at Hometown Woodshop! I am not a skilled wood worker, so it was great to get instruction on how to use the equipment and learn more about woodworking in general. I hadn't done this since 7th grade tech class so I was a little intimidated, but Tim and Fred were very helpful and made the whole experience approachable. It was great to use my hands to build something. I highly recommend the class experience.

Awesome woodworking class in a huge, well-organized shop. Individual stations, tons of pro-grade tools, and a knowledgeable staff who help when needed and let you work at your own pace. Perfect intro to wood basics, hand/power tools, and staining. Highly recommend and I will be back!

I attended an individual session for three hours with minimal woodworking skill. Fred was patient, answered all my questions, began the process of improving my confidence in using a variety of tools but, most importantly the table saw. Will be taking future individual classes and then joining group one day classes in future.

Took a private lesson with Fred. He did an amazing job to evaluate my current knowledge and projects. Showed me around the shop and gave me time on a bunch of tools and jigs. I am so thankful that a community resource like this exists!

Took the cutting board class and had an awesome experience. It’s perfect for beginners and gives you hands-on exposure to a variety of woodworking tools without being overwhelming.

Fred was a fantastic instructor—very knowledgeable, patient, and always willing to answer questions. I came in with a little carpentry background but still pretty new to woodworking, and this class was a great fit.
